The regional hospital is going ahead with elective surgeries starting tomorrow.
COVID-19 Incident Manager Dr. Stewart Kennedy says they were supposed to start on June 1, but were derailed by a recent outbreak scare.
The hospital put non-essential procedures on hold when a locum doctor tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Officials feared that over 100 people could have been exposed.
Kennedy says they feel safe to go ahead with surgeries now because the majority of those test results have come back negative.
