There are no complaints from the mayor or the president of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce on the local results of the federal election.
Mayor Bill Mauro is liking the fact the city has two representatives on the government side again.
He adds with Patty Hajdu being in the cabinet when parliament dissolved is an added plus.
The mayor tells us he will be meeting with both Hajdu and Marcus Powlowski soon to talk about issues he would like addressed.
At the top of that list will be a discussion on the Bombardier plant with Powlowski.
As for Chamber President Charla Robinson, she too believes it’s positive to have both members part of the sitting government.
However, Robinson believes the strong local showings by the NDP and Conservatives is a message to Hajdu and Powlowski from the voters to work together on issues.
