Gone too soon, the legendary guitarist and co-founder of Van Halen has died after a long battle with cancer. His wife, Janie, was by his side along with his son, Wolfgang who confirmed the news that his father had died from cancer.
Eddie Van Halen is arguably one of the best guitarist in the world and actually started his musical journey first playing piano! He then moved onto drums and after figuring out his brother could play them better….he finally started to learn how to play the electric guitar. In 1978 his instrumental solo “Eruption” was voted #2 in the Guitar World’s readers poll of the “100 Greatest Guitar Solos”
Eddie Van Halen was an absolute legend and was undoubtedly a true inspiration to so many people, he will be deeply missed!!
