$50,000 could be earmarked for some of Thunder Bay’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
It’s proposed in Monday night’s City Council agenda.
Council is being asked to pre-approve the money from the 2020 budget to be used for events early in the year before the budget process is complete. Those include an Opening Community Celebration on January 1st and adding extra flair to Snow Day in February.
The upcoming budget includes a total of $370,000 for the anniversary, including $220,000 for a legacy project at the former boundaries of Port Arthur and Fort William.
