The provincial Health Minister is asking the Ontario Medical Association if it wants to become a union.
In a letter to OMA President Dr. Virginia Walley, Dr. Eric Hoskins highlights its request for binding arbitration before it will restart contract negotiations. He says if OMA wants to be guaranteed the right to binding arbitration granted to public sector unions, then the provincial government would be open to discussions.
Earlier this month, OMA voted to reject a tentative 4-year fee deal with the province.
