District Adds 5 New Cases

The Thunder Bay District is now down to 37 active cases of COVID-19.

The Health Unit is reporting five new cases, and nine resolved cases.

However, it found that another seven people with the virus are infected with a Variant of Concern.

The Health Unit is also declaring a COVID-19 outbreak at the Musselwhite Mine over.

Out of the newest cases:

  • Two were infected through close contact;
  • Two had no known exposure;
  • Health officials are still determining how one person was infected.

One of the latest cases is someone in a First Nation while the rest are all within Thunder Bay or one of the surrounding communities.
