D-Day Veteran Parachutes Again

Today marks 75 years since one of the most tragic and triumphant days in Canadian history. On June 6, 1944, Canadian troops along with their allies stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. A brutal battle that would eventually lead to victory in World War II. Among all divisions in the British Army Group, the Canadians suffered the most casualties.

Today is a day to remember the sacrifices of those on the beach, and all of those who served in the Great Wars and in the military in general. It’s easy day-to-day to get caught up in life and daily frustrations. I’ve caught myself a couple of times today getting frustrated over little things, like the internet being frozen. What a ridiculous thing to be upset about, especially when you think about what those young men went through on this day 75 years ago. What all of the men and women in the war effort went through. What their poor families back home went through. So next time I’m annoyed over something trivial, I’m going to try to remember those who sacrificed so much so we can live the lives we do.

This is a very cool video. Tom Rice nearly lost his life parachuting into hostile territory on D-Day. The 97-year-old American celebrated the anniversary of D-Day by parachuting into Normandy again. What an amazing guy! Check it out below.
