Crews Respond To Simpson St. Fire

Nobody was hurt in a fire in a south side building early this morning.

City firefighters were called to the unoccupied building on Simpson Street between Leith and Bethune Streets.

They say a wooden stairway was fully engulfed in flames, but crews were able to quickly put them out.

Fire officials are investigating how the fire broke out, but remind you to clear dry, tall grass around buildings because it is a fire hazard.

They don’t say at what time exactly they were called out.
