COVID Outbreak Declared At Pioneer Ridge

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at a long term care facility owned by the City of Thunder Bay.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit confirms the outbreak in Area 4 at Pioneer Ridge on Tungsten Street.

They have indicated one staff member has been recently confirmed to have COVID-19.

Under provincial rules an outbreak takes place in a long term care facility even if only one person has been diagnosed with the virus.

Pioneer Ridge was part of the initial rollout of the coronavirus vaccination program, but the health unit indicates, “The management of outbreaks remains the same regardless of vaccination status at the home.”

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
