COVID-19 Cases Up, Health Minister Optimistic

Ontario has its highest increase in COVID-19 cases in around a week.

The province’s latest update had just over 200 positive tests.

However, Health Minister Christine Elliott is tweeting that we shouldn’t jump to conclusions from one day’s data.

“In fact, with 218 more resolved, we continue to see a persistent decline in active cases, with 12 fewer today and over 1,500 fewer active cases in the province as compared to early last week,” Elliott says on Twitter.

She adds most of the new cases are from Toronto and Peel, while most other areas are confirming few or no new cases.
