33 New Cases Diagnosed For District

There is an uptick in the number of COVID-19 cases for the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.

It says there are 33 more people diagnosed Thursday, and, sadly, one death.

That puts the death toll at 46.

However, 35 people have been added to the resolved list, which drops the active case count from Wednesday’s 286 to 283.

  • 11 people got the virus while at home from someone else
  • Eight others got it from outside the house
  • 10 have no known exposure
  • Four are still waiting for results of how they got it

At the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre seven of the 32 patients that are being treated for coronavirus are in the Intensive Care Unit

The Northwestern Health Unit reports seven new cases with four emerging from Sioux Lookout, two from Kenora and a single case coming from Dryden. The active case count is up to 48.

Province-wide there were 2,380 new cases of COVID-19 and 17 deaths.
