Consequences Possible With Retirement Plan

A new survey from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce shows that the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan could have negative consequences for employment.

According to the survey, 44 percent of businesses would reduce their current payroll or hire fewer employees and only 26 percent of businesses in the province believe they can shoulder the financial burden associated with the ORPP.

President of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce Charla Robinson says that the government must conduct a comprehensive and publicly available economic analysis of the new pension plan before it moves forward with implementation. (Photo supplied)
