One person is dead and another is being treated for head injuries, following a three-vehicle collision on Highway 17, yesterday evening.
OPP say just before 7 p.m., a westbound vehicle lost control while attempting to round a curve, and struck a guard rail, 15 kilometres west of Marathon. A passing eastbound motorist stopped to assist, and while waiting on scene, the two men were hit by another westbound vehicle that had lost control.
A 35-year-old Orillia man died in hospital, and police say the second man might be transferred to a major hospital for further treatment.
Two others sustained only minor injuries.
