Coalition Wants Help To Fix Fountain

A group of volunteers who work on maintaining Waverly Park are now turning their attention to the park’s feature piece the Hogarth Fountain.

The Coalition for Waverly Park is looking to work with the city to come up with a plan to repair the aged structure.

They say it didn’t run last summer because it leaks, its mechanical system is in a confined space and there’s a security fence that detracts from the fountain.

The group hopes they’ll be able to get the fountain running by 2021.

The fountain dates back to 1790.
