City Teens Now Charged With Murder

The city now officially has its second murder of the year with charges being laid against two teenagers.

Police say 19-year-old Cody Echum and a 14-year-old boy, who we are not allowed to name, have both been charged with first-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Austin Robinson.

The two had originally been charged with aggravated assault.

Robinson died after what police say was a serious assault at a residence on the 300 block of North Syndicate Avenue in the early morning hours on January 9th.

Authorities have not released the cause of his death.

Echum is to appear in court again on Friday while the youth will appear Thursday.
