City Sends Strategic Plan Back

We could be waiting until the beginning of March before the city finalizes its Strategic Plan setting its goals for the next few years.

Council voted to send it back to city staff, and revisit it at another meeting on or before March 2nd, 2020.

Neebing Ward Councillor Cody Fraser doesn’t approve of the document being sent back for fine-tuning. He feels the plan shouldn’t be delayed or narrowed down any further.

The plan’s goals include developing a strategy to improve local neighbourhoods. It’s divided into four pillars: Lead, Serve, Build, and Review.

At-Large Councillor Mark Bentz was also against spending any more time on the Strategic Plan, and encouraged his colleagues to put their stamp of approval on the proposed document.

During the discussion, City Manager Norm Gale emphasized this type of plan is one of the “most important documents” that Council will approve during their term.
