City Mobility Co-ordinator Moving On

Thunder Bay’s Mobility Co-Ordinator is saying goodbye.

Adam Krupper tells us he’s leaving his position with the city after December 21st and moving to Victoria, British Columbia.

Looking back on his time as the city’s first Active Transportation Co-ordinator and Mobility Co-ordinator, he feels like he was able to change attitudes in the city.

“[People] just want to be comfortable when they’re commuting, whether they’re biking, walking, taking transit, or driving. And I’m just proud that people no longer scream and yell about a bike lane. I think there’s much more understanding that it’s a way of making people feel safe.”

Krupper is proud of the national recognition he says the city received for the Arundel Street Active Living Corridor.

There are some projects he’s hopeful the city will finish in his absence, like the bridge connecting Vickers and Carrick Streets and a north-south cycling route he calls “a game-changer.”

Krupper has worked with the city since 2009.
