A 68-year-old Thunder Bay man is facing sex-related charges police allege involved young males between the ages of eight and 19 years.
Police Detective Inspector John Fennel says the investigation began last month into an incident which is said to have taken place in 1978.
After police started looking into the matter Fennel says other alleged victims came forward. He says there are a total of six complainants adding there were other alleged victims who came forward on Thursday.
Fennel suggests historic sexual assaults can be complex since the person must be charged under the law as it was written at the time of the alleged incidents.
Stephen Alan David Young is facing six counts of sexual assault, along with one count each of sexual interference and sexual exploitation.
He is due back in court on February 14, 2020.
