City Looking At Improving Chippewa Beach Water

Today is your last chance to tell the City if they should remove or change the breakwater at Chippewa beach.

Parks Supervisor Werner Schwar tells us it’s part of the environmental assessment process. “We want to hear if there are specific things they want to see us address in looking at the project. Once that’s complete we’ll be looking at options, everything from removing the breakwater to keeping it as it is.”

It’s thought that if the breakwater is removed it will allow for better circulation of the water in the beach area and could cut down on beach closures due to bacteria.
