City councillors are expected to vote to hand out 2.4 million dollars in cultural and recreation grants this evening.
The Community Auditorium is the biggest benefactor receiving over $700,000. The Thunder Bay Historical Museum is asking for almost $400,000 and the Art Gallery over a quarter of a million dollars while the Symphony Orchestra is asking for just under a quarter million.
Magnus Theatre wants $130,000. Also in the mix is the homeless shelter which is in line for a $255,000 grant but says it needs double that amount.
