City administration is projecting savings of $50,000 a year, by making the bus terminal at city hall permanent.
The city says its transit system needs a hub on the southside, and the municipal building is an ideal transfer point. It’s only been a temporary terminal up until now.
The savings come only once an initial investment of $340,000 is made. Among other upgrades, that money buys new heated shelters that eliminate the need to keep city hall open for commuters after hours.
Council will vote on the recommendation at tomorrow night’s meeting. (File Photo)
