Charges Laid After Police Stop Stolen Vehicle

A 27-year-old Thunder Bay man is facing charges, including theft, after a south-end collision and fleeing police.

Thunder Bay police report it was Saturday night when they watched a speeding blue van run a red light at Edward and James Streets, and collide with another vehicle.

The driver then took off, heading south on Edward.

After eluding an attempt by police to stop him, they say the driver ended up in a snowbank in a nearby parking lot on Edward.

Police say the vehicle was stolen, and also charged him with impaired driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision, and breach of probation.

He remains in custody.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
