Chamber Welcomes WSIB Premium Decrease

The Workplace Safety Insurance Board is reducing the premium rates employers pay.

It’s due to the elimination of the WSIB’s unfunded liability; something Chamber of Commerce President Charla Robinson feels is good news.

“We’re expecting the WSIB premiums will go down by almost 30%, so that’s a significant saving for employers. Certainly will help to save businesses money so they can reinvest those savings into growing their business.”

The head of the local Chamber tells us they expect the decrease in rates to start in the New Year.
