Chamber Demands Repeal Of Labour Legislation

The Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce wants Premier Doug Ford to scrap the former Liberal government’s labour legislation.

President Charla Robinson believes Bill 148 has all kinds of flaws which are causing headaches for local business owners who are having trouble adjusting.

She notes the increase in the minimum wage was just one aspect, and there were ” over a hundred different little pieces that were…adjusted” including scheduling, minimum hours, vacation, personal emergency leave and sick time.

The chamber president adds the reforms were “too much, too fast.”

The local chamber is joining the Ontario Chamber of Commerce is making the call for the labour law changes.
