Care Home & School Report COVID

The COVID-19 outbreak at a north side long-term care facility is now considered facility wide.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports three residents with the virus at the Southbridge Roseview home were identified through surveillance measures including enhanced testing.

Meantime, the Lakehead Public School Board reports a person associated with Hammarskjold High School has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The board says it is working with the Health Unit to trace who this individual came into contact with.

Anyone who has been in close contact with that person will be isolating at home and will not return to school until health officials give the all clear.

The board does not say if the infected person is a student or staff member.

The school will remain open for classes.
