Another sign of growth in the mining industry in northwestern Ontario.
The Canadian and provincial governments have assigned a Joint Review Panel to conduct an environmental assessment on a proposed palladium and copper project in Marathon.
It’s being developed on 22,000 hectares of land by Generation Mining Limited.
The company acquired a 51-percent interest in the project in 2019 and is in the process of increasing that ownership to 80-percent.
President and CEO Jamie Levy says the project will give our country a strategic position in a globally competitive mineral market for palladium and copper, both essential to Canada’s green economy.
