A barn fire was brought under control in Shuniah last night.
Shuniah firefighters were called to the 500 block of Copenhagen Road around 7:30 last night, where they report heavy smoke was visible.
They say it was caused by sparks from an open-air burn by the resident of a home on the property.
They kept the flames from spreading from the barn to the home, extingiushing it after around three hours with the help of East Gorham Fire Department.
It ignited some nearby bush and grass, which firefighters also took care of before it could spread any further.
They’re reminding you that you need a permit for any bonfires or other open-air burns. (File Photo)
