Board Of Health Approves Nurse Deal

Thunder Bay’s Board of Health has approved a new four year deal with its nurses.

Board Chair Joe Virdiramo tells us they are thankful for the new agreement with the Ontario Nurses Association.

The new agreement was reached on Friday and nurses returned to work on Tuesday.

Medical Officer of Health Janet DeMille tells us things are getting back to normal.

The approval puts a formal end to the strike by the 587 public health nurses which began on October 16th.

The new deal expires in 2020 and includes wage increases each year.
