Blue Jays Hit Grand Slam With Popularity

Though they haven’t won the World Series in 24 years, the Toronto Blue Jays continue to be incredibly popular.

For the second year in a row, the Blue Jays have been selected as Canada’s Team of the Year in Acadia Broadcasting’s annual news poll.

The Jays, who advanced to the American League Championship Series for the 2nd consecutive year, pulled in 46% of the votes cast in the year-end survey.

They beat out the Canadian Women’s Olympic Soccer Team, which gained 21% of the vote.

Canada’s World Cup of Hockey team placed third at 15 percent.
