Assault sends man to hospital with serious injuries

A man suffered serious injuries after an assault with a weapon in Thunder Bay, according to police.

Officers were called to the area of Junot Avenue and Windsor Street around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim was taken to the hospital while a 19-year-old man was located and arrested nearby.

He has been charged with aggravated assault and failure to comply with a release order.

The accused has been remanded into custody with a future court appearance.
