Jane Margaret Maepea

Jane Maepea was born January 19, 1949. She passed away June 5, 2026, at home unexpectedly, due to health complications.

After high school, she attended King’s Business College and earned her book keeping diploma. She married Peter Maepea and together they built a life together. She worked at Maepea Cresting alongside Peter until the business closed and then she went onto work as a healthcare aide. She had a friendly and caring manner and was always appreciated by her dedication to her clients.

Together, she and Peter shared a love of gardening which she carried on after Peter’s passing. They loved travelling together into the US and camping at Trowbridge Falls Campground. She dearly loved her pets, Ellie her cat and her canaries and finches. She was well liked by her friends for her kindness, generosity and willingness to help in any way.

Jane was predeceased by her husband Peter, sisters Karin, Ella, Trudi, her brother Paul Gilders, adoptive parents Bernice and Bruno Maki, sister-in-law Sandy Stafford-Maepea and brother-in-law Mark Maepea. She is survived by her sister Barb Lennstrom (Clarence), brother-in-law Hannes Maepea, sister-in-law Marie Kraus (Toivo), sister-in-law Loretta Maepea and numerous nieces and nephews.

She always appreciated anything anyone did for her, especially her friends Beatrice, Suzanne, Mary Ann, Hannes, Delores and Jane who were there to help her during the last week. A big thank you to all of you as well as Dr Noys and the many VON workers who visited her weekly.

A celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Donations may be made to the Humane Society, Heart and Stroke, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
