The Thunder Bay North Stars captured a 4-2 victory over the Fort Frances Lakers on Friday night.
The North Stars take a three games to two series lead and have a chance to win the league championship on home ice on Saturday night.
But the home team has yet to win a game in the series.
Matthew Bertolin scored two first period goals to lead the North Stars attack. Morgan Blackwood meanwhile was strong between the pipes as the Lakers outshot the North Stars 45-26.
