Thunder Bay is about to witness something extraordinary.
From 6:00 a.m. Monday, May 11 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, the airwaves of 99-9 The Bay and Country 105 will come alive with stories of hope, resilience, and community during 36 Hours for Your Thunder Bay, a first‑of‑its‑kind fundraising event that brings together four cornerstone local charities under one powerful mission.
This is more than a fundraiser.
It’s a landmark moment for Thunder Bay.
For the very first time, George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation, Habitat for Humanity Thunder Bay, Our Kids Count, and Roots to Harvest are uniting as one, working collaboratively to uplift families, support children, strengthen food security, and build safe, stable homes across our community. Led by Acadia Broadcasting, YourThunderBay.ca, 99-9 The Bay and Country 105, whose commitment to local impact has long been a driving force in Northwestern Ontario, this ambitious 36‑hour live, on‑air event proves what’s possible when purpose and passion align.
Four Causes. One Powerful Opportunity to Give.
Every community has needs, but when those needs are met together, the impact multiplies.
At its heart, 36 Hours for Your Thunder Bay addresses some of the most urgent challenges facing families and individuals today:
- Healthy child development
- Strong, supported families
- Reliable access to nutritious food
- Safe, affordable housing
When you donate to this event, you’re not choosing just one cause, you’re investing in four life‑changing organizations at once. Every dollar raised is shared equally, ensuring support reaches thousands of people across Thunder Bay in meaningful and lasting ways.
This is community giving at its most powerful.
A First‑of‑Its‑Kind Collaboration
Never before have these four organizations come together for a single, unified fundraising effort—and that’s what makes this moment so special.
Each charity brings its own expertise, voice, and lived impact. Together, they form a collective force rooted in shared values, trust, and a belief that working together creates greater change than working alone.
Throughout the 36 hours, listeners will hear real stories—stories of families finding stability, children reaching milestones, young people discovering opportunity, and neighbours supporting one another. It’s not just about raising funds. It’s about building momentum for a more connected, compassionate Thunder Bay.
