Brenda (Bren) Delgaty

It is with the greatest sorrow that we announce the passing of Brenda (Bren) Delgaty, loving wife to Tom Delgaty, and equally loving mother to Will and Alayna. She passed peacefully on Sunday morning, Oct 26, 2025.

To those who knew her, no need to explain the love you felt when she shone her light on you. For those who never met her, just know there was an angel walking this earth for sixty eight years.

Family and friends were everything to her. She was selfless, kind, empathetic and possessed a one of a kind sense of humour. And as Tom often said, she was the toughest person he ever met. Her strong mind and integrity kept her going even as her body failed her.

Tom and Bren were blessed to have fifty three years together, beginning as two sixteen year olds dating in high school. They knew right away they would be together forever. A special mention to Kie and Lynn, Tom’s brother and sister-in-law, who supported and believed in their love in those early days. That bond was intact with them her whole life.

Bren was a talented artist, painting beautiful images that captured the essence of any subject she chose. She loved to travel and immerse herself in other cultures. She loved to talk to new people and learn about their way of life. She loved recalling her trips to England as a young girl with her parents and family, her many adventures travelling with Tom, and the epic road trips she took with her close friend Mo. But mostly, she loved her home, spending quiet nights on the deck in summer with her loved ones.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Peter and Joan Cowen.

She is survived by her husband Tom, her son Will (Lilla), daughter Alayna (Brenan) and her “special little one”, granddaughter Evalee. Sisters Dana (Stan), Carol (Jack) and nephews Spencer and Rayson, as well as niece Kaitlyn. Aunts, uncles, cousins…all family members had a special place in her heart. She thought of you all.

She had some true blue friends in her life. As mentioned, to Kie and Lynn, Mo, and also Kim and Holly, she loved you and appreciated your unwavering support and comfort these last few years

Finally, Bren was a deeply spiritual person. She talked to God every day.. Some of us knew she had a direct line.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at Harbourview Funeral Centre on Friday, Nov 14, 2025 from 1-3 p.m.
