Man facing charges for impersonating police officer

A man is facing charges after being caught impersonating a police officer in Thunder Bay District.

The provincial police received a complaint about a man blocking Highway 587, displaying a police badge last Friday.

An investigation into the matter led to a 33-year-old from Thunder Bay being arrested.

They have been charged with the following:

  • Personating a peace officer (badge, using uniform, or equipment)
  • Dangerous operation
  • Forcible confinement

The accused has been released from custody with a future court date.
