Thunder Bay is bursting with summer energy this week—from waterfront concerts and cultural festivals to tai chi and a joyful explosion of colour. Here’s what’s happening July 16–22:


Wednesday, July 16

Live on the Waterfront
6 PM–9 PM | Marina Park, Main Stage
Thunder Bay’s signature outdoor concert series continues with an exciting lineup:

  • 6:00 PM – Ezra
  • 7:00 PM – Loughlin
  • 8:00 PM – Bells Larsen
  • Food Vendors – Local eats and treats
  • Community Booths & Artisans – Local makers and organizations
  • Family Fun – Activities for all ages with a lakeside view

Bring your lawn chair and enjoy this free, family-friendly event every Wednesday through August 20.

Saturday, July 19

Festival of India
3 PM–Evening | Marina Park
Celebrate Indian culture with a vibrant Chariot Parade, live performances of traditional dance, drama, yoga, henna tattoos, cultural exhibits, and free Indian food for all. A joyful celebration of diversity and tradition.

Sunday, July 20

Festival of Colours
3 PM–7 PM | Marina Park
Join the joyful explosion of colour at the Festival of Colours, where participants play, chase, and colour each other with dry powder in a celebration of unity and equality. Expect:

  • Interactive Dance & Live Kirtan Bands
  • DJs, Yoga, Cuisine, and Free Hugs
  • Lots of Colourful Fun!

Monday, July 21

Waverley Park Summer Concert Series
6:30 PM | Waverley Park Bandstand
Enjoy a relaxing evening of live music in the park, hosted by the Coalition for Waverley Park and performed by members of the Thunder Bay Musicians’ Association Local 591:

  • 6:30 PM – Wayne Faulconer (original music)
  • 7:30 PM – Accidentally Awesome Sax Collective (instrumental)

Free admission—bring a chair and enjoy the tunes.


Tuesday, July 22

Tai Chi in the Park
7 PM–8 PM | Marina Park
Join the Peng You Tai Chi Quan Association for a peaceful evening of movement and mindfulness. No experience needed—just show up and enjoy the view of the harbour and Sleeping Giant. Free parking during class.

  • Candi Badanai is a proud Thunder Bay local, theatre enthusiast, and community cheerleader who is passionate about helping children thrive through the arts. She loves being a wife to Lawrence and mom to Emmy. You can often catch her trying out local drinks and eats — and maybe even jumping on stage for a little karaoke. Candi is all about making people smile and creating fun wherever she goes.
