Vaugeois Speaks Out At Queen’s Park

The new MPP for Thunder Bay-Superior North has given her maiden question at Queen’s Park.

Lise Vaugeois from the NDP, accuses the province of creating a two-tier health care system.

“How is it the Ministry of Health can justify limiting public sector nurses to a one percent increase, with inflation near 8 percent, while staff from for-profit agencies, performing the same duties, receive so much more,” Vaugeois told the Ontario Legislature on Thursday.

“Will this government remove wage caps and end the health care crisis, by ensuring we have full-time jobs with benefits, instead of temporary and costly agency work?”

The NDP says the province needs to get rid of Bill-124, which limits pay raises for public sector workers to one percent, including nurses.
