This past Monday, we found out that the music world and acting world lost a legend: OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN. She passed away after a long battle with cancer at the age of 73.
She was most recognized for starring opposite John Travolta in the 1978 movie GREASE
Olivia’s music has been trending. She had six songs in the Top 10 iTunes Chart this week.
“Grease” – is one of the most searched movies this week online. Plus, I came across this on Buzzfeed.com: GREASE facts that you probably didn’t know:
Henry Winkler, aka, The Fonz, turned down the role of Danny Zuko. He was concerned that the role was the same as The Fonz from Happy Days.
Marie Osmond was offered the role of Sandy, but she said NO
John Travolta basically rallied for Olivia to be cast as Sandy. He said no other woman at the time – was even on his radar. He wanted her, and that’s it.
Most of the main actors were way too old to be in high school. John was 24, Olivia was 29, Rizzo – who was played by Stockard Channing was 34.
Olivia was actually SOWN into those spandex pants at the end of the film.
AND, if you didn’t know, BARRY GIBB wrote the title song “Grease”. Frankie Valli sang it.
