Thunder Bay’s health unit is monitoring five respiratory outbreaks in the city.
All of the outbreaks are located at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
The 2 South – Medically Complex Services Area is dealing with an Influenza A and COVID-19 outbreak.
The 2 East – Mental Health Rehabilitation Area, the 5 South – Transitional Care Area, and the 3 North – Rehabilitative Care Service Area are all dealing with COVID outbreaks.
Meanwhile, respiratory outbreaks at Southbridge Pinewood and Southbridge Lakehead have been declared over.
Outbreaks are declared when respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms increase among residents.
