Kings Captain Looking Forward To GTHL All-Star Game

Five players on the Thunder Bay Kings will skate in the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) All Star Game.

Alongside Coach Jeff Ricciardi and Trainer Marco Grigio will be Captain Josh Lehto as well as Keagan Jones, Brodie McLeod, Maxwell Buffone, and Jouni Kemppainen.

“I’m honoured to represent my organization and the city with four of my teammates, and it’s pretty cool to get this opportunity,” Lehto told Acadia News.

Only the Toronto Junior Canadiens have more players on Team Red than the Thunder Bay Kings.

Following the game on Friday, the U-18 Kings (10-4-6) will resume regular season play Saturday and Sunday.

“It’s very new compared to the league we used to play in. The pace is a lot faster and the style of play is much different,” Lehto mentioned, when discussing the experience so far in the GTHL. “Our first weekend was really strong, I believe we had three wins and a tie. We started off pretty good and we’re still doing pretty good.”

Riccardi’s Kings will play the Junior Canadiens, North York Rangers, Vaughan Kings & Mississauga Senators before coming home.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
