The active case count is plummeting to 14 COVID-19 patients in the District.
The Health Unit reported two new cases Monday, with one person in the Thunder Bay area and the other in an outlying community.
However, further testing has confirmed four people with the virus have a variant of concern.
The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre indicated that four of the five patients that they are treating for COVID-19 are in the Intensive Care Unit.
In Ontario there are 270 new cases of COVID-19 along with three deaths.
