Colour Coding Your Comfort Level

With things trying to return to ‘normal’ post Covid, everyone is trying to find ways to keep themselves safe. We’d all love to go to big gatherings again but how do you keep yourself safe? How do you keep people from being excited to see you and coming up to give you a big bear hug after over a year of not really being able to see you? Well, one idea that is being marketed is colour coded wrist bands. Just like stop lights, they are red, yellow and green…all universal colours that are pretty easily understood. Engraved in the slicone bands are the meanings:

Red: No Contact

Yellow: Elbows Only (you know, how people are touching elbows instead of shaking hands now)

Green: High Fives and Handshakes

I think this is a neat idea, though I admit there could be some issues since wristbands are a dime a dozen these days. There are wristbands for cancer, in support of various bands, etc. I suppose that if you’re going to an event, you’d need to remove any other bands in advance so there’s no confusion. Personally, I think that I’d like to have a wrist band that indicates: Come Up And Give Me A Damn Hug Already!!
