NWHU Adds Two New Cases

The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 within their catchment area.

Both of the new cases Wednesday come from the Sioux Lookout health hub and are part of the 25 active cases within the NWHU.

The regional health authority says the number of people hospitalized due to COIVD-19 is down from two (as reported on Tuesday) to one, and the number of active cases is down from the 30 reported the day before.

The Sioux Lookout hub continues to have the most cases in the region with 17. The Dryden area has six active cases, while both the Fort Frances and Kenora regions have one each.

To date, the Northwestern Health Unit tells us they’ve administered 39,912 doses of vaccine.
