More Rioting After Minneapolis Suburb Shooting

There is more rioting, looting and trouble south of the border, and it’s not far from Thunder Bay.

It began after the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old black man, Daunte Wright, by a police officer, during a traffic stop in Brooklyn Centre.

This is a suburb of Minneapolis, where the trial for Derek Chauvin is on, the former police officer charged in the death of George Floyd, another black man who died while in police custody.

Police say the vehicle, driven by Wright, was pulled over for an expired tag, police soon learning Wright had an outstanding warrant. He was shot after video showed him resisting arrest.

Police add the shooting was accidental. Rioting continues in the suburb, despite a curfew.
