Nurses have returned to Pikangikum First Nation as issues with community policing continue.
Health care staff resumed regular service Saturday night, April 10th, after being pulled from the community not long after provincial police were expelled by the Chief and Council.
Chief Dean Owen says the community is pleased with the decision to return nursing services and appreciates their role in keeping the community safe.
He adds now the community can focus on the unanswered issue of police services in Pikangikum.
In the meantime Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit has also been called to investigate, due to allegations of misconduct involving OPP members.
