Slow Down For Emergency Vehicles: Police

For drivers who fail to slow down and move over when passing parked emergency vehicles, better think twice.

Thunder Bay police say they are about to start enforcing the law which requires everyone move over, adding they are seeing a rise of people failing to do so.

This also applies to parked tow trucks.

Police add they may start issuing tickets.

Where there are two lanes of traffic in the same direction, drivers must move to the outside lane, if it can be done safely.

They also repeat if there’s an emergency vehicle approaching with its lights and/or siren on, to pull over and stop.
