Government To Loosen Grey Zone Restrictions

The province is modifying restrictions in Grey-Lockdown zones.

It will be allowing hair and nail salons to reopen on April 12th with 25 percent capacity much to the delight of the owner of Terra Nova Salon & Day Spa, Steven Scaffeo.

“25 percent is better than zero,” says Scaffeo, “It is exciting. I mean, all my staff are eager to return to work.”

Combining all the lockdowns since the pandemic began a year ago, his salon has been closed for about half that time.

Outdoor fitness classes will be able to reopen on Monday in Grey zones as well, with a maximum of ten people.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford warns this isn’t an excuse to let your guard down.

“But in saying that, through the Chief Medical Officer and the local Medical Officers, we’re loosening it up just a little bit. Be outside, get fresh air,” he says, adding he still urges people to follow health regulations.
