It’s been an adjustment for a Thunder Bay man who is overcoming COVID-19.
Cody Ruberto, who founded U-Ride, is in England where he got the virus while playing professional soccer. He tells us for the most part he’s feeling much better, working with doctors as he deals with the odd bit of brain fog.
“There’s some things the doctor recommended to me, some anti-inflammatory things to help with the brain pressure. If it’s a day when my brain is not feeling great, I try to push all intense work meetings aside,” says Ruberto.
Of course, he has his up and down days. “There’s other weeks, or a string of a couple of days, where if I have an intense meeting, and I have to really think, after that it can feel like your brain is completely fried.”
The Thunder Bay native recalls the horrible coughing and times he did not want to do anything. He adds he went to England in 2019 to play soccer, well before the pandemic came along. Even though the league made moves to stop the virus, it still reached him. He stresses for everyone not to take COVID-19 lightly.
