Facing Forward Helping Those In Need

The most vulnerable in Thunder Bay are getting a lending hand with cloth masks.

The United Way launched the Facing Forward initiative in partnership with the Thunder Bay Community Foundation, Thunder Bay District Health Unit and the City of Thunder Bay, which provides workplaces, families, and organizations with a way to purchase cloth masks for themselves and helping to provide masks for those in most need.

“As our community continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic, it is important that we adopt all necessary measures to protect ourselves and our communities against the spread of COVID-19 in our area.” says Albert Brule, CEO of United Way of Thunder Bay. “[Our organization] believes everyone deserves fair access to masks, but unfortunately many don’t have the means to purchase cloth masks for themselves or their families.”

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
