Chamber President Likes New COVID Framework

Next week businesses in the city are hoping to find out about provincial reopening plans.

Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce President Charla Robinson is eager to get some clarity before then.

Robinson would like it if the province would let us know prior to next Tuesday about where in the framework the Thunder Bay district will be at so businesses can prepare.

However, she is pleased to see the process for reopenings is going to get underway and that we will be transitioning into a colour coded framework once again.

Robinson is also pleased to see the COVID framework protocols have changed so that non-essential retailers will be able to operate at 25 percent capacity whereas under the original framework they may have been forced to close.

The chamber president also wants business owners to remember to come up with a pandemic safety plan adding, “The new framework requires all businesses regardless of what colour code we are going into, to have a safety plan…and that it is up to snuff.”
